Quick answer
Prepare a clean, dry garment; position the transfer; press it with the product-specific heat, time, and pressure; peel the film using the specified peel method; complete the finishing press when required; then let the garment cool.
Preheat the press and pre-press the garment to remove moisture and wrinkles.
Measure, center, and secure the transfer without shifting the printed film.
Use the current instructions for your exact transfer, then peel as specified.
Repress when instructed, cool the garment, and follow the verified care guidance.
Six controlled steps
Confirm the garment is compatible, clean, dry, and free from lint. Preheat the press fully. SpeedE’s live guide recommends pre-pressing the garment for 2–3 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
Test specialty, coated, heat-sensitive, or highly dyed garments before production. Keep seams, zippers, pockets, and buttons away from the pressing area.
Lay the garment flat and identify its centerline. Measure the transfer and use the intended print location as your reference.
Place the printed transfer film in the correct orientation. Check collar distance, side-to-side alignment, seams, and usable platen area before lowering the press.
Use a consistent heat press and follow the current instructions supplied with the exact SpeedE transfer. Confirm platen temperature instead of relying only on the display.
The live Upload Gang Sheet product currently publishes 260°F, 10–12 seconds, and firm, even pressure with bunny hops.
Place the supported garment flat on the platen and lower the press without moving the transfer. Apply even pressure across every printed area for the specified time.
Heavy seams or raised construction can prevent contact. Use an appropriate platen or support so the transfer area remains flat.
Peel according to the exact transfer instructions. SpeedE’s current Upload Gang Sheet page specifies instant/hot peel, while other live SpeedE product pages state transfers may peel hot or cold.
When instructions differ, the directions supplied with the transfer control. Peel smoothly and diagonally without stopping or pulling the garment upward.
SpeedE’s live pressing guide recommends covering the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and pressing again for 5 seconds.
This finishing step smooths the print and supports a professional matte finish. Use the product-specific finishing instructions if they differ.
Verified live instructions
SpeedE product pages contain more than one verified peel workflow. Use the settings included with your exact order. The table below separates the current Upload Gang Sheet instructions from the broader live guide.
| Source | Temperature | Time | Pressure | Peel | Finish |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Upload Your Gang Sheet | 260°F / 127°C | 10–12 seconds | Firm, even pressure with bunny hops | Instant / hot peel | Follow order instructions |
| Current general pressing guide | 260–320°F, depending on fabric | 7–10 seconds | Medium to firm | Hot or cold, depending on film | Cover and repress 5 seconds |
Important: do not combine settings from different rows. Product-specific instructions override general guidance. Contact SpeedE before pressing if your order does not identify the correct workflow.
Choose a compatible blank
SpeedE’s live guide and product pages confirm compatibility with cotton, polyester, blends, tri-blends, performance fabrics, and many other garments. Compatibility does not remove the need to test.
A common DTF garment choice. Pre-press to remove moisture and keep the application area flat.
Test for heat sensitivity, scorching, gloss, and dye migration before full production.
Blends are confirmed on SpeedE product pages. Follow the exact transfer and garment instructions.
SpeedE lists these as compatible, but specific coatings, stretch, and heat tolerance still matter.
Use the DTF Shirt Sizing Guide to choose proportional widths and practical placements before pressing.
Protect every garment
Too little heat can weaken the application. Excess heat can damage the garment or transfer. Use the exact verified setting.
Do not extend or shorten the cycle by guesswork. Start with the supplied SpeedE instructions.
Uneven pressure can leave edges or sections poorly bonded. Keep the supported transfer area flat.
Measure before pressing. Heat makes the placement permanent, so check alignment twice.
Hot and cold peel are not interchangeable unless the product specifically allows both.
Complete the finishing press when the current product instructions require it.
Test coated, specialty, highly dyed, textured, or heat-sensitive garments before production.
SpeedE’s live guide says to wait 24 hours before washing and use the verified care routine.
After the press
SpeedE’s current live instructions say to wait at least 24 hours before the first wash, turn the garment inside out, and wash in cold water.
Give the completed application at least one full day before laundering.
Protect the printed surface from direct abrasion against other garments and the washer.
SpeedE’s live guide specifically recommends washing transferred garments in cold water.
Use the instructions supplied with the order if they include more product-specific guidance.
Stop, check, and test
If a transfer does not apply as expected, pause the run. Compare the actual process with the order instructions before changing multiple variables.
| Problem | Possible Cause | What to Check |
|---|---|---|
| Transfer lifting | Insufficient heat, time, pressure, or uneven contact | Verify settings, platen accuracy, seams, support, and product instructions. |
| Poor adhesion | Moisture, coating, incompatible garment, or application error | Confirm pre-press, garment compatibility, and consistent pressure. |
| Cracking | Application, garment stretch, or care issue | Review settings, design coverage, fabric behavior, and washing routine. |
| Uneven application | Cold spots, uneven pressure, raised seams, or platen obstruction | Inspect press temperature, pad condition, platen choice, and garment construction. |
| Film will not peel | Wrong peel timing or incomplete application | Confirm whether the exact film is instant/hot, cold, or hot/cold peel before continuing. |
Do not repeatedly repress a failing garment without confirming the cause. For order-specific help, contact SpeedE Transfers with the product, garment, settings, photos, and press details.
